The Journey of the "Beaver"

Milt "Beaver" Adams founded Beaver’s Pond Press in 1998. At age 70, when asked why he would undertake such a big project at that time of his life, he chuckled and said, “It’s my destiny and my passion. All my life’s experiences, both business and personal, have led me to this adventure.”

After almost 18 years in the printing industry, Adams became increasingly aware of the needs in the publishing field that were not being met: writers needed an alternate system to market and publish their work. Beaver’s Pond was born after Milt became frustrated with the countless numbers of good writers he knew personally. These authors couldn’t get past the “gatekeepers” in publishing without agents and New York connections. His sole philosophy in creating Beaver’s Pond is putting authors first, and from the time it opened its doors, Beaver’s Pond has helped authors realize their dreams and turn their works into best sellers and award-winning books.

By age 80, Milt’s passion has helped over 500 authors. Now in its second decade, Beaver’s Pond Press has expanded its staff and added more innovative services but still keeps the commitment to put authors first. Heading up the growing corporation are Milt Adams, Founder/Publisher; Tom Kerber, CEO; Dara Beevas, Vice President; Amy Quale, Managing Editor; Heather Kerber, Publishing Operations Manager; and Kim Melchert, Editorial Assistant.
